Company Profile

IT Edge - a Trading division of Advtech Resourcing (PTY) Ltd - is a vibrant company experienced in the IT Recruitment industry. We provide a focussed approach, for both clients and applicants and in doing so; offer a high level of service to the industry.

IT Edge has since our start in September 2000 become known for exceptional levels of service to both candidates and clients.

IT Edge is managed by Gita Lowe.
Our client base ranges from small start-up companies and medium size solution providers to corporate concerns. Our clients' core businesses include specialist fields, i.e. Software development, e-commerce, CRM, ERP, Business Intelligence, Finance, Consulting, Sales, Management, Outsourcing, Communication as well as generalists whose success depends on a dynamic and up-to-date IT team.

Our applicant database includes people with specialised skill sets in: Networking and Communications, Hardware, Mobile technology, Internet and Online technology, Storage and Backup technology, Software and Software development as well as call Centre Technology. Experience ranges from Technical support consultants through to Directorship.

Our team consist of IT recruitment professionals whose service is backed up by knowledge, integrity and hard work. Our consultants have specialist-recruiting skills and remain up to date with the market needs and trends, emerging technologies and leading companies by doing extensive research and by using acclaimed training groups in South Africa. As a client and an applicant you will deal with a consultant who has undergone intensive training, does extensive research and therefore understands the market and the clients needs. We promote open and honest communication with our clients and applicants so as to ensure a positive and valuable recruitment experience.

Our protocol includes a thorough and meticulous evaluation process. This includes an in depth interview with the candidate. This process concentrates on the individuals skills, competencies, and employment history. The process offers counselling in terms of market related salaries, interview etiquette and company / market information. Once the screening process has been completed, with the consent of the candidate, various reference checks are performed using the clients specification as a guideline. We aim to offer a supportive and informative service to both candidates and clients alike throughout the entire recruitment process.

We use various marketing and sourcing methods in the process of getting the best person for the position at hand. Amongst others we make use of web-based advertising, innovative reading material and have specifically found our reputation to be our most successful marketing tool. We believe in having a constant presence within the market by advertising appropriately to the specialist fields and therefore targeting high calibre candidates. In terms of advertising, all information is presented on a competency based and skills specific level so as to ensure all relevant and appropriate applicants are offered an equal opportunity.

IT Edge is an APSO member. APSO is the professional body for the Recruitment Industry in South Africa. APSO membership benefits include up to date information on Labour legislation, industry developments and professional business practices; international training and agencies adhering to a widely accepted Code of Ethics of international standard.

As a business practice close counsel is held with a Labour Lawyer so as to ensure compliance with the Employment Equity Act and the Labour Relations Act. As an additional service provided by IT Edge both clients and applicants are put in contact with a Labour specialist when necessary or when requested.

IT Edge also has the services of an Industrial Psychologist available. At the request and cost of the client, an applicant can be assessed to determine his/her suitability in a specific position/environment. The assessment tools used provide an integrated and detailed profile for the client in terms of the candidates career profile.
